Is this safe? Will I get a virus?

The MCSM Megathread exists for one sole reason: to provide the community with a free, easy to understand, risk-free resource. Most people who are interested in the game are likely teenagers or kind-of tech interested kids who don't know what they're doing, and there are a LOT of viruses and a LOT of misinformation about on the internet. The nature of something like Minecraft: Story Mode where buying it through official means is probably completely out of the target audience's reach means that people are going to try and download the game for free, and most do this by going to Google and searching "minecraft story mode free no virus." It's sad but very true. So we figured, if these kids are going to try and pirate the game anyway, better to do it safely instead of them downloading the game from some dark alley armpit of the internet.

That's all to say that everything on this website has been thoroughly tested and is used by many, many people. If it wasn't safe, it wouldn't be here in the first place. This is a website made by fans, for the fans. We're just people who love this game and want to see it preserved just as much as you do. Most of our downloads we host ourselves thanks to our lovely contributors, and if it's not, it's provided through trusted and reliable services. That's not to say our word is 100%. Still be smart, use the proper safety tools and do your own research. Just know we work very hard to keep what we do easy, safe, and reliable. :>

Join the Megathread Discord, and post whatever you'd like added or changed in the #mt-requests channel. If you contribute enough, you can get the contributor role and edit access to the site directly.
